Hi! I’m Anne Marie, aka the Comma Momma. I acquired that moniker from my editor-in-chief when I was the managing editor for an online magazine, and it stuck with me ever since. 🙂
I am that person—you know, the one that friends don’t like sending texts or emails to because they know I’m secretly correcting their grammar. I can’t help it! I’ve been that way for as long as I can remember. Social media posts, text messages, emails, magazine articles, blog posts, books—they all go through my mental editor, whether they ask for it or not.
Professional Experience & Education
Because of my natural attention to detail, I’ve spent the last decade (thereabouts) doing quality assurance for various companies, which included editorial tasks (copyediting and proofreading). I also spent several months working as Managing Editor for an online magazine, as mentioned above. Extenuating circumstances in 2019 afforded me the opportunity to hone my editorial skills through an online course, through which I passed the final exam and received a Certificate of Completion to confirm my editorial proficiency.
Personal Details
On a personal note, I’ve been married since 1993 to my husband, Nick. I’m a mother to five kids, and grandma (Momo) to seven (and counting) grandkids. (Grandbaby number seven isn’t pictured below because she wasn’t born until over a year later.)
When I’m not correcting everyone’s grammar, I enjoy painting (acrylic) and crocheting. I’ve included a few pictures below to share if you’re interested. I’m also a Pampered Chef consultant, so I enjoy cooking and trying tasty new recipes with my PC tools. I even do a weekly live cooking demo with one of my granddaughters on my PC business page on Facebook. We call it “Cooking with Momo & Abbie.”
